PETRICK’S RETIREMENT OPENS VACANCY ON OP&F BOARD
Lawrence G. Petrick, Jr., who has served on the OP&F Board of Trustees since
2003, announced that he was retiring and therefore resigning his active fire
seat on the Board effective March 5. Petrick, a lieutenant with the Shaker
Heights Fire Department prior to his retirement, served as the chairman of the
Board twice and also chaired the Disability Committee. He was recognized by his
fellow trustees and OP&F staff during his final Board meeting on Feb. 25.
Petrick’s departure leaves a vacancy on the OP&F Board of Trustees, but it
is expected to be filled in March. The Board’s Nominating Committee has been
accepting applications for the vacancy and interviewed candidates on March 5.
The Board was expected to select an active fire representative to fill the
vacancy and have the individual sworn in during the Board’s annual retreat in
Columbus on March 6. The new trustee will serve on the Board until the spring of
2015, when an election will take place for a four-year term.
This spring’s
election is for the term currently filled by OP&F Chairman of the Board of
Trustees, David Witner (Cuyahoga Falls Fire).
